Time-Saving Miro Keyboard Shortcuts
The following Miro shortcuts are designed to take routine Miro tasks and make them as quick and effortless as possible.
Work more efficiently with just the click of a button.
Quick Frame Creation
Frames in Miro are like little digital whiteboards where you can group and organize different elements of a project while keeping it separate from others!
Using this shortcut allows you to quickly create and place a frame to keep your workflow going without having to stop and click. Just hit the F key and click where you want your new frame to be.

Sticky Note
Sticky notes are great tools for collecting feedback, capturing thoughts, and organizing your ideas.
To pop up a sticky note, just press N. This instantly brings up a new sticky (you can click on the color options from here to change from the default yellow if you like). Click where you want it and you’re done.

Text Box
Need to add text?
Just hit T to quickly add a text box to your board to start jotting down your best ideas.
Shortcut: (T)
Shapes
The shapes feature is great for organizing thoughts and mapping out projects.
Press S to access shapes, like rectangles or circles, make your choice, and then click to quickly create diagrams or flowcharts.
Shortcut: (S)
For quick shape selection, use:
- Rectangle — R
- Oval — O
- Line — L
Card
The Cards feature is commonly used for Kanban boards or task organization.
To access, just hit D and click to place your card on your board.

Bulk Select and Edit
Missed an item while selecting a group of objects?
No problem! Instead of starting over to rope in that element you missed, simply hold down the shift key and click the object you want to add to your selection. Miro will instantly expand your group without losing your previous selection.
Shortcut: (Shift + Drag)
Duplicate Objects
Need to quickly duplicate an element on your Miro Board?
You can copy-paste it or, to save some time, simply click the object you want to duplicate, hold down Alt, and drag your mouse away. A duplicate of your object will instantly pop up.

Navigation Shortcuts
Miro Boards can get quite large and hard to navigate for more complex or long-running projects.
These shortcuts are designed to get you where you need to be as quickly as possible so you can get on with your work!
Quick Zoom
Being able to zoom in and out quickly is a game-changer for Miro.
To cut down on the scrolling, just use the shortcuts below and save yourself some time.

- Zoom In: Cmd + + (Mac) | Ctrl + + (Windows)
- Zoom Out: Cmd + - (Mac) | Ctrl + - (Windows)
- Zoom to 100%: Cmd + 0 (Mac) | Ctrl + 0 (Windows)
- Zoom to Fit: Option + 1 (Mac) | Alt + 1 (Windows)
- Zoom to Selected Item: Option + 2 (Mac) | Alt + 2 (Windows)
Search
Just like in Google Docs, you can use the “Search” function below to quickly find a certain frame or sticky.
Enter the shortcut, type what you’re looking for, and Miro will take you to it.

Using Miro as part of a team?
Here are some collaboration tips to help you and your teammates work together seamlessly, making it easier to share ideas, give feedback, and protect your work!
Bring Objects to Front or Back
Quickly change the stacking order of the objects on your Miro Board to better manage your work! Particularly useful for complex boards with many overlapping items.

- Bring to Front: fn + up arrow/PgUp (Mac) | PgUp (Windows)
- Bring Forward: fn + up arrow/PgUp (Mac) | Shift + PgUp (Windows)
- Send to Back: fn + down arrow/PgDn (Mac) | PgDn (Windows)
- Send Backwards: Shift + fn + down arrow (Mac) | Shift + PgDn (Windows)
Lock/Unlock Objects
Sometimes, you just need to lock down an object or frame until you come back to it later.
To keep your work safe, simply enter the shortcut below to lock your elements in place.

Group Objects
It’s easier to resize or move objects once they’re grouped together. To do that quickly, hit the shortcut below!

Show/Hide Comments on Board
This shortcut allows you to quickly hide any comments on your board for those times when you need to work, distraction-free.
Ideal for presentations.
Shortcut: Shift + C
Bulk Sticky Notes
If you need to quickly jot down multiple ideas, this function can help you do it quickly and easily.
There’s no keyed shortcut, but click N to open up sticky notes, click Bulk on the bottom of the menu, and then start jotting down your notes, hitting Enter between them to separate into different sticky notes.
Add/Edit Link to Object
Need to add a link so a teammate can quickly reference relevant resources, documents, or web pages without having to leave the board?
No problem. Tap out the shortcut below and keep all of your resources in one place.

Miro Desktop App Shortcuts
The following shortcuts are designed for the Miro Desktop App:
Reload Tab
Quickly reload the active Miro tab to refresh your content or apply recent changes. Extremely useful when updates are being made by your teammates in real-time.

Close Tab
Things getting cluttered?
Instantly close the current tab in the Miro Desktop App without disrupting other boards of the app itself.

Exit App
Use this shortcut to completely exit the Miro Desktop App. It will close all open tabs and quit the application. Perfect for when it’s time to shut down for the day or if your app needs a quick restart.

Copy Board Link
This shortcut is incredibly useful for sharing your board with teammates or clients. Quickly copy a link and paste it anywhere you like, giving easy access to whoever you choose!
