Our ideal Product Design - Creative Director will lead the creative vision and execution of product design projects, ensuring that all designs align with client goals and brand strategies. You will oversee the entire product design process, from initial concept through to final production, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high standards of quality and innovation. This role requires a strong blend of creative direction and project management, with a focus on delivering products that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are essential for managing client expectations and delivering projects on time across multiple simultaneous initiatives.

Designity is a subscription-based creative platform that enables seamless more efficient collaboration between creatives and businesses through a unique and innovative model. Working with traditional design and marketing agencies offers an alternative but at a high cost. Marketplaces like Upwork and Fiverr claim to offer a more affordable solution, but their model lacks reliability and optimization for creative practices, bringing frustration for businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creative vision and execution of product design projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand strategies.
• Conduct product design research to inform user-centered, market-driven designs.
• Oversee the entire product design process, from concept to final production, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure high standards of quality and innovation, balancing aesthetics and functionality.
• Manage projects from brief to completion using Designity’s tools, ensuring quality results.
• Translate research insights into actionable design strategies, aligning product development with client objectives.
• Mentor and guide Designity’s creatives, setting direction and supporting their growth.
• Communicate clearly with clients, presenting work and translating feedback into actionable tasks for Creatives.
• Serve as a key decision-maker, leader, and mentor within the team.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in product design with a focus on creative direction and product design research.
• Proven track record of leading successful product design projects from concept to production.
• Experience in a creative/design agency or as a freelancer overseeing client projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design and market trends.
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to develop briefs, timelines, and manage independently.
• Experience mentoring and guiding creatives, integrating research insights into designs.
• Detail-oriented and organized, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in product design and creative direction.
• Bachelor’s/advanced degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field; additional management education is a plus.
• Hands-on, self-motivated, team-oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Based in the US or Canada with excellent English communication skills.
• Quick learner with a passion for processes and multitasking.

Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000
